Kayak Kids

The Outdoor Adventure project gives kids a chance to participate in a wide range of outdoor activities: camping, day hiking, kayaking, tide pooling, bird watching, river rafting, and cycling, just to name a few.  Outdoor adventures can be educational: learning about the redwoods at Armstrong Woods, or how salmon and steelhead migrate back to their spawning grounds at the Lake Sonoma Hatchery.   Other outings entail plenty of adventure: kayaking an estuary out to a secluded beach on the coast, or inner tubing the slopes up at Tahoe.  The only pre-requisite for participation in this project is the desire to have fun!  This projects helps kids learn to enjoy and appreciate the many diverse outdoor landscapes that Sonoma County, and California, has to offer.
