So Many Ways You Can Contribute to Sonoma County Youth
Planned gifts benefit the 4-H Foundation of Sonoma County in the future. Gifts may be made through a variety of tax saving vehicles and be designated for a specific purpose or to be unrestricted for the 4-H Foundation to use where the need is greatest.
If you decide to leave a planned gift to the 4-H Foundation of Sonoma County, please let us know. We want to welcome you to the 4-H Legacy Club (or Circle) which recognizes, during your life, your generous future gift.
Ways to Donate
A designated gift in your will or living trust is the simplest form of planned giving and the vehicle most commonly used.
Designating the 4-H Foundation of Sonoma County as the beneficiary is an excellent way for you to make a gift to the 4-H program, using an asset that otherwise might be heavily taxed.
Life Estate Gift
You may irrevocably transfer the ownership of a home or farm to the 4-H Foundation of Sonoma County and retain the right to occupy the premises for the rest of your life, and receive an immediate charitable tax deduction.
Charitable Lead Trust
The income from the trust is donated to the 4-H Foundation of Sonoma County during your lifetime. After your lifetime, the trust assets pass without further tax to your heirs.
Donating a fully paid, existing life insurance policy or a policy that is not fully paid, provides you with a current charitable income tax deduction.
Charitable Remainder Trust
A gift of assets establishes a trust and makes the 4-H Foundation of Sonoma County as ultimate beneficiary. You receive valuable tax benefits during your lifetime and retain for life the income generated from the assets given to the trust.
